Objective
This article provides step-by-step instructions for District Superintendents to review and electronically accept the annual Superintendent Assurance statement, which officially opens the district's compliance portal for the year.
Strict Access Restriction:
Only the designated District Superintendent can complete this step. The system enforces strict role-based permissions and will not allow any other district employee, staff member, or administrator to accept the assurance terms.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open the Email Notification
The compliance process begins when the Regional Office of Education (ROE) requests an evaluation or recognition cycle for your district.
Check your inbox for an automated system email indicating that your attention is required.
Click the secure portal link provided directly within the email.
Step 2: Log Into the Portal
You will be redirected to the IARSS Compliance System login screen (compliance.roeapps.org).
Authenticate using either your district’s Google or Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO) account.
Once logged in, your dashboard will display the current status of your district's annual evaluation.
Step 3: Access the Assurance Page
From your main dashboard, locate your school district's name.
Click directly on the district's name to open the pending workflow.
The system will navigate you straight to the Superintendent's Assurance page.
Step 4: Accept the Assurance Terms
Review the text on the screen carefully. Once you are ready to confirm compliance:
Click the Accept button.
Step 5: System Processing & Next Steps
After clicking accept, the portal will immediately display your next steps based on the scope set by the ROE:
Recognition Only: The system will instantly confirm that your recognition terms have been accepted.
Full Evaluation: If your district is scheduled for a full compliance evaluation this cycle, the system will process the request. Please note that full evaluations are generated by the system overnight. You will receive a automated email confirmation the following morning as soon as your active workspace is ready.
Need Help?
Did not receive the initial email notification?
If you did not receive the automated prompt, your email address may be outdated in the state system. Your district's administrator must update the superintendent on record within the ISBE EPS (Electronic Profile System) to sync the corrected contact info.
