Objective
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to download, complete, and upload the required documentation during the Pre-Application Files stage of the permit process.
Prerequisites
Before beginning this step, you must have successfully completed and submitted the Application Info questionnaire (see Completing the Application Info Step).
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Download Your Required Forms
At the start of this step, the system generates your custom paperwork based on the information you provided in the previous stage.
Click the Download Required Forms button.
This will download a single compressed (
.zip) folder to your computer.Extract the folder to access the various PDF forms inside.
Step 2: Complete, Sign, and Stamp the Forms
Open the downloaded PDFs to finish preparing them:
Review the forms (much of the data will already be autofilled for you).
Complete any remaining fields, then physically or digitally sign the documents as required.
Obtain necessary Design Professional Stamps where indicated on the forms.
Scan the completed, signed, and notarized documents back into your computer as PDF files.
Step 3: Upload the Completed Files
You will need to upload the finalized documents back into the portal.
Locate the specific document category on the page.
Click Browse and select your scanned PDF file.
Click the Upload button.
Multi-File Uploads: You can upload as many files as necessary for each individual slot if your documentation consists of multiple pages or separate attachments.
Step 4: Manage or Exempt Files
Preview or Delete: You can verify your uploads by clicking preview, or remove an incorrect file by clicking delete.
Non-Applicable Files: If a specific file type requested by the portal does not apply to your project scope, you can click the designated checkbox/option to mark it as non-applicable.
Important Lockout Notice: You can only preview, delete, or modify your uploaded files before the Regional Office of Education (ROE) reviews them. Once the ROE approves or denies your files, they are locked against further changes.
Step 5: Schedule a Pre-Permit Meeting (If Applicable)
During this step, the portal also gives you the option to schedule a pre-permit meeting if your project requires one.
Step 6: Submit for Review
Once all required files are successfully uploaded or marked as non-applicable, click the Submit for Review button at the bottom of the page to send your paperwork to the ROE.
