Objective
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to navigate the final stages of your project: uploading project completion files, scheduling inspections, applying for occupancy, and submitting the final application to the ROE for permit closure.
Prerequisites
Before beginning this final step, your project construction phase should be nearing completion or completed, and all prior permit steps must be approved.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Download and Submit Completion Files
Similar to the pre-application stage, you must generate and complete your final project paperwork.
Click the Download Required Forms button to get the necessary completion documents.
Open, fill out, and sign the downloaded forms.
Upload the completed and signed documents back into their designated upload locations within the portal.
Step 2: Request an Inspection
When the project site is ready for evaluation:
Navigate to the inspection section on the page.
Select your required Inspection Type from the dropdown menu.
Click Request Inspection.
Step 3: Apply for Certificate of Occupancy
Once you are ready to transition the building or space into active use:
Locate the occupancy section and select the appropriate Occupancy Type.
Complete the required occupancy documentation.
Upload the completed files and click the request button to submit your occupancy application.
Requesting ROE Review & Project Closure
At any point during this final stage, you can ask the Regional Office of Education to look over your progress by clicking the Request ROE Review button.
Important Flexibility Rule:
Unlike the pre-application phase (where files lock upon review), the completion phase allows you to remain flexible. Even after clicking "Request ROE Review," you can still go back and edit your files or make changes to any of the sections above at any time. Your files will only lock permanently once the ROE officially closes the permit.
